Carthaginians's everyday life

Everyday life and traditions of the Punic family were extremely simple.
Monogamy was generally practised.
Poligamy, even if it was not expressly forbidden, was really limited by the economic means of the expense.
Family constituted around the father.
According to an Egyptian tradition, children were circumcised when they reached puberty.
Their names were composed by many different elements, one was the proper name of a divinity and the others could be adjectives, verbs or common names.
Among the amusements there were thermal bath fishing and hunting.
Carthaginians ate cereals and olive-oil, were very well-known for the beauty of their clothes, most of those made of line or wool that they could easily dye.
Common people's clothes were a mini-skirt rolled up around the hips and a long beltless tunic; then they used to wear the typical Phenician hat called "lebbedi".
The coloured shawl or the lace-bordered veil together with their hair-style rich of precious metal diadems, made elegant their head. Carthaginians were proud of their jewels.
Men and women used to wear hangings with amulets, golden rings, earrings, showy jewels such as necklaces, chains, bracelets. Wide spread was the ring placed in the nose, in the central cartilage and in the left nostril. Humble people could simply use necklaces made of glasspulp, shells and bone-amulets.
The most appreciated vegetables were peases, cabbages and artichoke.
Like Semites, Carthaginians didn't eat pork, they preferred dog.
