Phoenicians were famous all over the world for the glass production.
Pliny told that the discovering of glass was casual.
Some traders, who light a fire in the beach, realized that together with ashes even the sand was melting transforming this mixture into transparent fluid material.In this way it was born the idea of producing objects by using firstly a sand bag which was immersed into hot fluid glass and then it was moulded by hand on a stone bench.
Later it was invented the "puffed glass" technique through a metal straw in some hot glass by moulding it.
